The inaugural Valley First Granfondo Axel Merckx Okanagan officially kicked off at 7 a.m. today in front of Penticton’s Giant Peach on Lakeshore Drive. More than 2,000 cyclists rolled through the start line with Axel Merckx leading the way.

Organizers wish all riders a safe journey through the South Okanagan.
