The 2014 GFAMO is proud to support the Axel Merckx Youth Development Foundation
In an effort to give back to regional charitable efforts in the Okanagan, and the greater cycling community in Canada, the 2014 Granfondo Axel Merckx Okanagan (GFAMO) is pleased to partner with the Axel Merckx Youth Development Foundation.
In partnership with the Canadian Cycling Association, the GFAMO will pledge proceeds toward the Axel Merckx Youth Development Foundation, which will help develop young cyclists in Canada.
“The sport of cycling has provided me with many opportunities, including the chance to race for my country and win an Olympic medal,” said Merckx, who won a bronze medal in the 2004 Athens Summer Olympics. “I would like to help Canada’s youth pursue their dreams in the sport of cycling and this new partnership with Cycling BC and the Canadian Cycling Association will help achieve this goal.”
